CoreWeave and Nvidia-Backed Poolside Collaborate on Texas Data Center Project
AI infrastructure firm CoreWeave (CRWV) has partnered with Nvidia-backed startup Poolside to develop a 568-acre data center complex in West Texas. Dubbed Project Horizon, the facility will be constructed in eight phases, each adding 250 megawatts of capacity. The site leverages existing energy infrastructure, including a natural gas hub and pipelines, to reduce operational costs and enhance sustainability.
CoreWeave will deploy over 40,000 Nvidia GPUs for AI computing and serve as the lead tenant for the first phase. The project underscores the intensifying race for AI-ready infrastructure, mirroring efforts by OpenAI and others to secure advanced computing resources.
